Business Strategy
Our business strategy is to deliver product solutions to customers rather than sell particular product lines. The Group operates through a Europe-wide network of over 39 local offices and five warehouses and comprises of 21 trading operations.
These 21 companies are marketed in four groups:
- Abacus Electronic Component Distribution (ECD) has a portfolio of 180 franchises within 12 trading operations providing technical distribution services through locally based sales offices.
- Abacus Embedded, the Specialist Distribution group covers businesses offering displays and communications expertise, and includes Trident, Axess and TDC.
- Abacus Own Brand encompasses Dubilier and Eledis offering competitively priced, quality passives, electromechanical components and batteries through standard distribution channels.
- Alpha 3 Manufacturing provides electromechanical sub contract manufacture services under three trading operations: DEM Manufacturing, CTL Manufacturing and CCS Electronics.
Abacus Group provides an alternative business model to many of our competitors, focussed on local service and strong technical support. It is our objective to be fully accessible to our customers whatever their size, aiming to become a strategic supplier to each by offering a broad and diversified product range coupled with strong technical support which satisfies our customer’s demands.
It is our goal to gain a minimum 5% market share in each market in which we operate, we aim to achieve this both through acquisition and organic growth. Our goal is to bring something new to each market in which they operate through a wide product portfolio and exceptional local service.
Part of the Group’s organic growth program has included the opening of an office in Hong Kong which enables us to strengthen our relationships with existing customers and Asian suppliers.
